You know, I think I read here recently that somebody found an equivalent (older Airstream) fan motor at Grainger.

Alan, We seem to follow in parallel universes. The same motor was dead in our Overlander. I think 1960's grease cooking did ours in a long time ago. Anyway, it was frozen. Even taking it apart on the bench didn't help. I replaced it with a used roof vent fan motor I had. I just had to modify the shaft slightly to fit the little aluminum blade it comes with. Otherwise, it now works great. As of where to get one? It is different ( blade and motor ) than motors available, but once you get the motor out, you can see the similarities ( mounting, etc ) to the common roof fans.

The original stove exhaust fan motor is still available, from parts stocking dealers.

all good info. Yes Chris Overlander ownership runs in a parallel universe...we all experience similar things....I guess I need to pull the fan motor out and see what it look like...

It should look exactly like the motors in your ceiling fans.

I had the same issue on my 65 overlander. Since I was replacing the original roof bent with a much better fantastic fan , I used the motor from it; slightly larger motor, but it worked just fine!

I just removed our working bathroom fan to replace it with a Fantastic Vent.
I seem to remember someone saying this fan or the motor was the same for the stove vent...is that true?
My stove vent fan does not work so it wold be great if this will replace it.

Yes, it's the same motor.

But check it out as a previous owner may have changed it out to something else.

Funny Alan, we seem to work in parallel universes. I have a new Fantastic Vent in my garage waiting for me to install in the same location! . I just replaced. The skylight last weekend. The motor will work with some modification of the fan. Adapting the vent fan to the roof motor, but as I recall, it was pretty easy. Ours works great.

how cool is that? I was surprised at the size of the aluminum wire that went to the fan. Monstrous stuff. With Rob's help it was an easy job.
This trailer is so original nothing was ever changed except the front window to lexan.

I just got an aluminum vintage style drip rail for over our front window. Saw this recently on a vintage AS and it looked great. If it goes well I will do the other windows too. Figured on starting with one and seeing how it works out.

If your windows leak, then they need gaskets.

Installing the drip caps "DOES NOT" stop leaks in a wind driven rain, or when the trailer is in motion when it's raining.
