Joining the 1965 Club!

Proud to announce the newest sister in the group: a 1965 Overlander that just arrived home tonight. Skin looks pretty good, needs complete interior overhaul, needs axles and tires, well, I guess about everything. But she is pretty cute overall.

This one will have to sit out for a bit while we work feverishly to finish the Safari in time for camping. Haven't even started thinking on what to do with this one. Here are some quick pictures I snapped when it arrived.

Looks pretty good! I have been working on my 65 international since July , maybe you have seen some posts ? I went from a 63 GT to a 26 ft, I like the extra space. If you are interested I'm trying to get the overlander & international emblems reproduced on a waterjet .

I will look your posts over. This one is going to be awhile before we get to it but I know already there are some pieces we are going to need. The back Airstream plate is missing and I like restoring the old ones so I will search for that. We have some bins missing too so I will be on the hunt. That is part of the fun for me in tracking down what we need.

Thanks Top,
I would rather be called a collector than a hoarder. Plus the plan is to give them away so hoarders don't do that do they?

Good luck with that one, it looks like a good base for a resto. I personally love the 60s Overlanders, our 66 has been great for us.

We think it is in good condition even if we have have to replace a side panel. We are going to do original with this one. Any ideas on what you are going to do so we can compare notes and share possible resources?
I will try to follow you along....just make sure you put up pictures!

We really like the 60's too and if you promise not to tell anyone, I would like to find a couple more. The 1950's are nice as well and I have my heart set on eventually finding a 1957 model.
If you spot one for sale, let me know.
Thanks.
Sandy

I appreciate the tip on that one. I would love to get it but a bit out of my price range and a little far to drive. If I win the lottery, I would snap it up fast and add her to our caravan.
Sandy
