65 Overlander 26 - Seeking window model number

Hi, I am excited to be joining the Airstream family with a 65 Overlander, 26ft.

At least one of the windows' glass has been replaced by plexiglass. It's only an issue for me right now because it doesn't fit right and rain is still coming down here in Portland, Oregon. I don't want to start interior work until it's resolved. My plan is to replace one window at a time, over time, since they are so expensive.

Can any of you tell me the model number I need to order for the window on the streetside front, perpendicular to the sofa?

Hi Karen,
I've just acquired a '65 Overlander and haven't replaced the windows in it yet. The PO still has possession. This'll be one of the first things I need to do.
However, I did replace all the windows in my '64 Overlander and my '62 Safari with safety glass purchased at my local glass shop.
I purchased new gasket material from Vintage Trailer Supply and did all the work myself. I needed my husband's stronger thumbs a couple times to pop the gasket in. :-) It was easy and not that expensive.
If you have the frames it's totally doable.

Ditto on what Laura said.
I'm on final stretch on my 65 26' (over a year re build).
Getting the gaskets in is not too bad...but I did all mine at
the same time and that was really hard on the hands and thumbs.
Absolute "key" is getting all the goop out of the track of the old
frames....I used a couple of different dental picks.
IF YOU TAKE THE WINDOW OUT....there is a little screw at the top
that you need to remove....it is screwed in to a little tiny piece of plastic
that you don't want to lose. Put tape on the trailer so you don't scratch
anything when sliding the window out of it's track. Good luck.

Good points!
I struggled at first with how to get the windows out. I forgot about that.
After removing the set screw you tilt the window up to somewhere between 45 and 90 degrees and slide it out laterally.
I remember using my head as a brace while I was slidng it out to avoid scratching the alumunim. A really awesome technique if I do say so. :-)
