Why is this to difficult to fix?

Hi, I don't see much, if any, difference between the two pictures. I think there might be a dent or knot hole in the plywood floor under the vinyl. If this is the case, the vinyl will need to be lifted or removed and the dent or hole filled with bondo or wood filler.

Yes, definitely appears to be a void in the subfloor underneath the vinyl. The only way to repair it is to fill that hole.

..another quality build out of Jackson Center......how do you put soft rolled vinyl on a bad subfloor? Are there few at the factory floor that use their heads? No one saw a funky floor and said, you know we should patch that plywood and sand it before rolling the floor over it.......

Must be the same guy that ate his McDonald's breakfast sandwich, balled up the wrapper and shoved it in my umbilical opening in the front inside of my trailer.

How long have you had the Airstream?
I would demand a proper repair...you paid enough for the trailer, you should expect excellent quality. If you wanted a crap trailer, you would have bought a SOB.

The floor didn't look like this when I got the trailer. It had a slight bump in the floor noted when I bought the trailer. I took it to C & G trailer for repair under warranty and this is what I got. That's not all they messed up. I complained to Jim Parrett then decided to take it to the factory recently to fix and it still looks the same. Jim insists it looks good. I can't find anyone in California that is a designated repair facility that is competent. (Inland RV Excluded) I'm getting ready to take legal action.

Stop complaining and put an area rug over it. Sorry I was channeling Air Stream customer service for a moment.

It is not right and I suspect the entire floor covering has to be replaced and the void filled.

Looks like it needs to be repalced and the void filled and sanded. I called Jackson Center for new tail light lenses for my 07 Classic after months of failed attempts to get them for my dealer and was told to just " buy them from a truck stop"

If it is what I think it is, the whole floor would need to come up. This would mean that most if not all the cabinetry would need to come out, unless you wanted them to roll another sheet over the old and have some sort of edge lip installed. Even then there could still be a slight imperfection that may be noticeable. What you have does not look like something was dropped on it. It looks to me that the plywood had a defect, the mindless line worker still rolled the floor over it, then as it settled it became more and more noticeable which would most likely not have been the case at first as it was first rolled.

To be honest, between your floor and your front tearing sheet metal, I would say you should be concerned and upset. Just the floor, I'd be less angst (not carefree), but the front skin tearing, the floor....I'm just waiting to hear about what happens next...

I definetly agree that after spending the big bucks that you shouldn't have to accept that. However, Airstream should care enough about keeping good workmanship standards a priority. In lieu of 'repairing' it again and increasing the chance of more further gaffs they should offer some adjustment to you. At least then when visitors to your coach spot the dent you can have some compensation to support your 'defense'. An area rug would help. My wife has rugs all over our coach for comfort. I don't like them mostly because I am the one who has to shake them out. But for now I don't complain because it lowers my priority to replace the floor covering in our 43 year old coach.

Has either repair center pulled the vinyl back? Did you let them know the repairs were not acceptable before you left?

Yes I argued with them for days about it but I needed to go back home to California. They told me they took out the oven and cabinets and that it looks great. Mr. Parrett refused to acknowledge that there was anything there. I am getting ready to take legal action. I am so disappointed and frustrated. I think I deserve to have a level floor.
That indentation was not there when I bought it. That occurred after C&G trailer "fixed" it. I'm not sure what they did to it.
It's been a nightmare.

I proposed to resolve the issue by having them install a fantastic fan, add an electrical outlet and install a TV mount. I would pay for parts and they would provide the labor. Mr. Parrett declined stating there is no issue with the floor.
I feel I deserve to have a level floor but I was willing to throw a carpet on it if they would had at least compensated me with labor. I now can only hope that if a judge were to agree with me that it's going to cost them more than a few hours of labor.
