I cleaned up around the front of the trailer last weekend. Here is a picture of before the cleanup:

And after..

Here is a picture from after the cleanup. I used silver colored Wurth rust guard ( similar to POR15) after wire brushing the loose material. I did the entire exposed frame, underneatn and at the rear as well. The paint is Rustoleum Industrial Coating. It is called aluminum silver.
I think it looks much better, and the rusted areas are now preserved. The tongue and gas bottle area have been an eyesore ever since I got the trailer. Now I can hitch up without having to look the other way.......

Hi Shari,
I painted the old tanks. They still have propane, and a local welding supply store can convert them and recertify them for $ 36.00 each.
I wet sanded them and then sprayed some industrial paint on them.
Once they are empty, then they'll go in for refit of the late style gas valves. If they find a problem with the tanks, then I will have to buy new ones, having wasted a perfectly good can of grey paint. But I'll be stylin' in the meantime....
i saw your picturs from the Colorado Rally. Thanks for sharing!

I LOVE your Baja Sunrise picture on AirstreamPhotos.com...makes me want to move back to SoCal so a trip like that would be feasible for us...in the meantime, we'll stick to our picturesque mountians ~

Baja

Shari,

I can map out some simple directions for you to get to this very beach, probably a lazy 2 days from Denver. I'll PM you if you want.

That would be great...I'll stick it away in my "long trip" file....until we get a new tow vehicle, we are sticking to "short trips"
