Question Those rounded corners

Does anyone have any good tips for tracing out the rounded floor corners when replacing the flooring? Both ends of our trailer are so rotted out that we may not get good tracings from the old floor.

Thank you so much.

Terry

Hi, when remodeling my trailer's living room I used a piece of drywall and a hula hoop, but some one told me that they used heavy copper wire or maybe copper tubing. I like their idea better, but I was already done.

Yu can use the floor channel as a guide.

Check out Pizzachop's threads, he has done it all. Here's the link to the list:

and his photos:

You can also PM him to ask directly. Or just wait and I'm sure someone will have an idea or two.

Thumbs up Thank You!

Wow, you go to bed and wake up, and such brilliant ideas pop up while you're sleeping. I think I like airforums. Why rack your own brain when others have already racked theirs?

Just kidding. But on a serious note, thank you for the great ideas guys. Mary, those pictures are soooo helpful. You guys are swell.

It's broken or something. Could you tell me where to find it? Thank you again.

Natasha :-)

Here is the process I used on mine last weekend.
First pic is how I determined how big a piece I needed for a template. 2nd pic shows the curve takes up 22-3/4" width and 28" long. I actually cut my template piece longer than 28" to bring it all the way back to the center of the holes in the crossmember, and still tuck under the C channel a little bit. How much doesn't matter.
Pic 3 is my rough-cut template piece.
Pic 4 shows it laid in place, aligned with the center of the holes in the crossmember, and tucked under the C channel.
Pic 5 and 6 is my hand model traceing the inside edge of the C channel onto the template.
Pics 7 and 8 show how I aligned the back edge of the template with the back of the plywood flooring. The center of the holes in the crossmember are going to go through the center of the tongue on the plywood (7) and pic 8 shows how I aligned the template with the edge of the plywood. I determined beforehand that the width between my walls was 84-1/2". The C channel is 1-1/2" each side, so the total plywood length should be 87-1/2". I took 1/8" off this figure so it would have just a slight amount of play to get it into place. You can see where I started my cut at 87-3/8". The template has a line from the inside edge of the C channel traceing, which is aligned 1-1/2" in from the edge of the plywood at 85-7/8"
IN the next post I'll show how I copied the line from the template to the plywood.

I don't know why it won't work, so try this one:

It's the last post on that thread. You'll just have to go back and start on page 1 from there I guess.

I tried to follow up on my last post yesterday, but it got "bumped " somehow. Time is not on my side at the moment. I will try to re-post this afternoon or evening with the rest of the process I did.
Thanks for the thanks!
