I'm in the process of permanently attaching the c channel to the new floor in my Bambi II. Those who have done the "Full Monty"--did you put Vulkem under the c channel when you reattached it to the new floor, or just a bead on the top next to the exterior aluminum wall?
Thanks in advance!
You dont have to put Vulkem under the channel, unless you want to. Usually it it used to keep exterior water out. It is used to seal outside seams, windows, openings and such. I think it would be a waste to apply it under the channel.
I know I've read of at least one person on the forums that put it under the channel. I questioned whether I should because of any last minute adjustments that might have to be done (really shouldn't since it was dry fitted already).
I think I'll skip it. All the screws & elevator bolts will do the job of holding it down. As far as water--hopefully I'll get her all sealed up with Vulkum in all the right places!
