Sub Floor

I need to order the sub floor for the Bathroom in my 71 Overlander. What size or Marine Grade plywood do I nee to order? Is 3/4 my best bet or do I need to order something else. No one has the stuff in stock so I want to get it right the first time.

Thanks

Can I use CDX plywood - What is everyone's recommendation. Marine 3/4 is $80.00 a sheet and I will have to wait until it comes in. CDX i can get right away. But, what do I need to do to the CDX for proper water sealing? Help

I used 3/4" marine grade plywood in the rear bathroom of my '72 Sovereign. I figure if it's good for boats, it's good for my Airstream.

And just to argue the point we used BCX 3/4" plywood in our '72 Sovereign, and sealed the edges of each sheet before installing it. In my opinion, both will work just fine. But if you're at all concerned with water issues down the road, and since you only need one sheet, you might as well get the marine grade if the cost is ok for you.

For a bathroom area (especially!), I would only use marine grade. Do you really want to do this again later? I think not...spend the 80-bucks, it's worth it!

This may help you better understand the differences in the types of plywood:

Plywood Grades

In addition, the different letters indicate the number & size of knots & voids that are allowed:

Thanks - It is a hour drive to get the Marine grade - just did not know if it was worth ordering and driving a hour to get it.
