Bought a 1955 Safari on 12-1-07 and have very much prep work before replacing the floor, first job is to gut it, will post a few picture of my progress, I'm sure that I will have lots of question............
Congratulations. Don't forget to post pics of it before you tear it down as well. We love to see how it progressed from what it was to what you make it into. It's always exciting being a long distance supervisor .

Whatever you gut, post photos and offer it, even if just for the cost of shipping. It's definitely appreciated. You'd be surprised what huge value some small parts have for someone who has no other source--latches, trim, cabinet ends, etc.

The interior had been "remodeled" some time in the 1970's with new appliances and materials, and the walls painted. Painted walls never seem to last over the original Zolatone. I'm the third owner with paper work showing the previous owners, (copy of titles), first owner had it for 22 years and the second, 30 years, very cool..............

I'm 99% sure I'll be replacing my Suburban 'recall' furnace in the Safari but not sure I should offer parts from this unit to others, given that it's safety has been officially called into question. opinions?
