speaking of magazine racks, I bought a decent miter box, and it made all the difference! No more cheap tools!

Here's the matching magazine rack at the foot of the bed. Calling it a magazine rack is a bit of an understatement. You could stuff a quilt down there!

you may have noticed the top of the bed gone, that's because I finally finished all the structural innards. It's ready for drawer slides and boxes (which I plan on tackling first thing in the AM.

oh, and I finally settled on some cushion material. The bottoms of the cushions, and the bed mattress are going to be the chocolate brown, with the back pillow (faces only) being in the pattern. The rest of the pillow will be chocolate as well. I bought enough of the cool pattern, to make a quilt (I think), so if there's enough left after the madness, I'll get my upholstery girl to use the leftover so the bed matches when it's made.

The countertop is slightly richer than the sample shown. They didn't have a chip of the new color (this one's discontinued). The new color is closer to the red dots, and has a micro-dot finish, which I thought would look pretty sweet with the perf-ed aluminum. We'll see! If it sucks, I can always redo it later.

I also swapped the wheels out with the one's that have been rolling our trade wind around these past 2 years. These wheels were a bit too modern for the other trailer, but fit just perfect on the little guy. I forgot to take pics of the baby moons on the 'wind... maybe tomorrow...

I still need to redo that AC door.. I'm not totally loving it...

I need to do the trim on the windows this weekend as well. Before I do, though I need to shear and brake some metal to cover the crap on the inside of the wall.

almost forgot! I picked up a new tow vehicle for her this past week, too!

1952 John Deere M. I love it! Julie will be surprised when she gets home from England... This'll teach her to go away for 2 weeks and leave me the check book.

:-D

Just awesome, Jordan. Your work is truly inspiring. Thanks so much for taking the time to document.

Love the new TV, too. It'll look great in your barn... someday!

first 3 drawers done!

I finished the faceplates to the drawers today, and installed them. Now I need to get some hardware so you can actually open em up! It's on the ever-growing list....

She'll be ready in November, I swear!!! "Remember, remember the 5th of November... gunpowder, treason and plot..."

Next up, I did my first 2 bottom drawer/doors with the perf-ed aluminum panels. Pretty time consuming, to be certain, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. They look really cool! Next up, I might start on the 2 doors under the fridge. These are going to hinge. I'm still not sure whether I should hinge from the top or bottom. I'm thinking bottom right now, so I don't have to stoop down to get my fresh bottle of wine!

The drawer turned out so nice. The bottom comes all the way up to the aluminum, and you can see in the front. That'll keep things nice and ventilated, eh? The one on the right will hinge the same way the 2 under the fridge will.

I also finished the bracing for the bed, and built the first 2 drawer boxes. They still need fronts. Maybe this week. I'll do them when i do the cabinet doors for the galley.

I also finished the top, installed it and ran the bullnose molding.

One thing I've definitely learned that it's best to gang stuff up and do as much of the "similar" type work at the same time. Seems like common sense, doesn't it? I get so specific detail focused, I want to the the one little part I had in mind done.... efficiency 101.. i failed it! ha!
