Squeky Floor...

We Bought Our 30ft Safari For Christmas 2004. I've Noticed That The Floor Creaks In About Three Place But Mostly In The Kitchen Area. Is That Normal? I Asked My Dealer About It - But They Just Shrugged It Off.

Is it normal, yes, in the 2004-2005s, is it acceptable, no. After some badgering of AS my dealer was able to fix it under warranty. He had to drop the belly pans, attach angled steel support under the floor and foam/shim it. It stopped the squeek and is much firmer now.

My floor sighs and groans, particularly right in front of the refrigerator.

I think it is something that Airstream does intentionally. It's as effective as paying for a membership in Weight Watchers.

I took mine back to the factory twice for repairs last year. The first time they put extra insulation in, which didn't work. The second time, they sent one of their skinny service guys to look at the supposed problem together with me, and of course it didn't make those groaning sounds from his malnourished weight.

That's when I knew they intentionally build Airstreams with regrigerator raid radar detectors.

We also have experienced Airstream's apathy with some warranty issues. A second trip to Jackson Center is in our near future. Once it was 'elevated' high enough we had some positive responce. Just keep after it, these trailers are supposed to be the 'best', they certainly price 'em that way...without apology!
