Sovereign Rebuild Check it out...
Guys,
I just posted a bunch of pics of my current project. Check them out and let me know what you think. There's lots of pics and stuff on insulation and floor repair. I would appreciate any comments and advice. Thanks.

Don, Janet got my head on right, sorry. Looks good. Especially the floor. I really like the duct-tape-leak-stop-thing. Not too many folks actually have full appreciation of what C.A. is!

My Sovereign project had the leak that rotted the floor beside the gaucho. In a small rain shower last week it wet the floor in the same spot.
After reading about the beltline leaks thru the belly pan area.(thanks Jim and Pizzachop) ...I taped the belt line over with masking tape layers....then last night we had a huge downpour for two hours or so. No leak....that nailed down the cause for me, and with a dried out floor I am repairing the rot and vulkem is going on the beltline and maybe under it if I decide to pull it off.e
I figure if tape stopped the leak then the vulkem will do the trick there.
Also there is a wall switch on a plate just ahead of this area, on the right facing out of the front....beside the gaucho. What does this control? Ours had tape over it.

The wall switch is to turn off the converter so that the hum doesn't disturb sleepers on the gaucho. The switch is still shown on the wiring diagrams in my 2005, but they don't install the switch anymore.

That's probably why the switch was taped over, to keep the converter from being inadvertantly turned off.

so if its turned off while on shore power you have no inside power at all?
part two- where is the best place to grab 12v power so I can troubleshoot the tow light connector...from a 12 v socket inside I guess?

upper windows
I have a 78 31' and my four upper windows are a mess inside. I see that you worked yours over. How did you do it?

Alan, with shore power on, turn on the Univolt. The Center Pin on mine is 12v hot with the Univolt on. The pic shows how I jumper from the center pin to the pin for the running lights to make them come on.

thanks I see that. I will try it and see what happens. I thought the power came from the tv.
-Have most folks removed the gaucho to install flooring?
I ordered the FX sheeting from Alsacorp I have been wanting for a long time. Got the aluminum stuff to use on my front walls. It should look great, and will brighten up the dingy yellowed area.
I scrubbed it all down to get it clean and will probably install this stuff next week.

Two different types of LEXAN® are used in creating FXSheeting. HP92H LEXAN® is used for creating Mirror versions, while 8A37V LEXAN® is used for creating Brushed versions. Both types of LEXAN® are 10 mil thick, but the 8A37V LEXAN® is made with a "brushed" texture so the Brushed versions of FXSheeting not only look like brushed metal, they also feel very similar.

Be careful not to put two lines of Vulkem. One on the top is sufficient. Otherwise, you risk trapping water between the lines and who knows where it will go? If you want to Vulkem the skin joint, that's fine, just don't make an unnecessary trap under the belt.

Did the beltline sealant on top, had a nice big 30 minute storm the next day, lots of rain...not a drop inside.
Does anyone know how wide the vinyl insert in the stripe area is ( was red and blue)....is it 3/4"??
