Thanks guys, the brakes got done and I had a whole hour to install the door hardware and get it in the trailer before the appraiser arrived:-)
We were still fitting stuff until quite late into the night but we just need to pack tonite
Were pretty stoked to be actually going camping and I'll get some more finished pictures up as it all came out pretty nice in the end

Goodyear ST Trailer Tires Load - Inflation Guide
Folks tend to over-inflate.
Bumping weight up, 4800 or 5200 and getting inflation spot-on to specs is a very good start. Values in bold text are MAXIMUMs.
Load range C... blah blah blah...
Have a good trip

Also - adding some pressure to tow vehicles front tires will reduce the tail-wags-dog 'jello' oscillations...
Modern radial sidewalls are that soft that the front end will merrily rock side-to-side once the aft end starts getting lateral nudges from the trailer following along...It can get most annoying when that old Revision 1.0 seat-of-pants and/or passenger motion-sickness sensors or midnight eyespot headlight wiggle distractors have that new axis of motion introduced

on the road
It's been a week so far. No major catastrophes, just a couple of broken drawer retaining latches and I suppose you could count the wheel chocks I crushed when I left a breakaway cable hooked up and dragged the trailer a foot forwards, oops!
Nearly everything worked great except the RV tank sensor system, I don't know what the problem stems from but I'm getting false readings on grey and fresh.
The on demand water heater and vacuflush are all pretty cool gadgets. So far 3 days is our limit and that's with grey maxing out 1st probably due to showers and dishes. The batteries have only dropped to about 95% at their lowest and the fridge freezer is amazing in it's ability to perform with so little power.
We started out in Airdrie, just north of Calgary and scooted down over the border (the US inspector asked for a peek inside as we was an Airstream fan) to Spokane at Riverside State park which was a great test site. Then on from there to Metzler State park just by Portland Oregon and Patricks Point State park which is our favorite so far and now were in an RV parking lot style "resort" in Pacifica, just south of SF. The RV resort is quite the experience being squished in between gimungous behemoth rigs but there are three other Airstreams here so it's not too bad. Tomorrow it's off down the coast to Solvang for a few days and hopefully a little sun.
Towing the trailer has been great fun, 9 hours on the twisty coast roads was a bit too much, but a baptism by fire for the Carlisle brake actuator. We've had a ton of thumbs up and waves which puts a smile on our faces and I'm starting a list of things to modify or work on when we're back home.

Great report. Its motivating to have watched your progress then see you actually get to use it. At times during my project i think it will never be done.

I'm so jealous you can use yours, and we're still sitting here! Glad you're on the road and having so much fun! Don't worry about those "big boys" - heck, you've got an AIRSTREAM!!!!!! Safe travels!

Made it!
We got back late on Sunday night having covered 8240 Km (about 5150 miles) and pretty much everything worked great. After scooting down the coast to Solvang CA we headed across to Mohave, then The Grand Canyon, up to Yosemite, then Valley of the Rogue in Oregon before Coeur d'alene in Idaho and home. I tried to keep close to the speed limit (which is painful in CA, 55!) and averaged 10.7 mpg at probably 65-70 ish.
Repairs on route included swapping the roll flat dump hose to a 1 1/2" corrugated pool hose which worked much smoother and putting two drawers back in place after a particularly joggly PCH day.
I'm amazed at how little battery we used and next time would probably opt for half the amp hour capacity.
It was quite toasty in the Desert (115) and I was reminded that I should have got the AC installed, still there's always next time...
We did treat ourselves to some trailer item treats on the way and we got a Bealetti Moka Express for the GF and a Nespresso Pixie in aluminum for moi. One for propane and one needs 110V so we're covered. Best of all was my B'day gift from the GF. We're huge fans of "Pete the Cat" work by James Dean; and now we have a commissioned piece that I'll treasure for ever.
We love spotting Airstreams whilst driving and pulling into campgrounds but were amazed at the waving and general camaraderie but totally blown away by the interest when we stop for gas or a sandwich. We're getting good at the guided tours and for the next trip I'm going to spend way more time planning and setting time aside to check out fellow streamers work. How long before your done Marzboy?
So a great trip and now we're keeping our eyes open for a Clipper; really something that I can take measurements from and (re)build from scratch.
On the last day I reckoned we'd passed the camping initiation, granted not ruffing it in the wilderness, but I awarded the trailer it's Airforums badge of honor.

Congratulations, you did it!! Sounds like quite the trip. I can not wait til I am making my maiden voyage. I hope to have her back in one piece by the end of the month. I have been plagued by a lot of logistical and weather issues that keep pushing me back. I am also doing 99% of this myself. It would be great to find someone near me to buck rivets (beer and steak on me, anyone?)
Thank you for being such an inspiration to me, it helps to keep me motivated. Again congratulations!

Hot Rod
This week the Overlander made the headlines (well page 22 in the auto section). Whilst not 100% accurate it was nice see peoples reactions.

Cool article. Glad to see I'm not the only one still rolling with the ugly white BBQ bottles for propane.

Ugh, me too! I even have a set of 30# aluminum ones that Terry thoughtfully provided with the trailer, but I've been meaning to polish them up before getting the valves changed over, so I haven't installed them yet. Frank used to give me a hard time about them, now I think he has just given up...
Very cool write-up, truck. And it's really good to see you finally able to use your trailer.

Hey Truck.. I forgot to ask how the marine head worked for your trip? Do you find any issues with TP clogging it at all? I really like the idea... just whenever we go on a trip to Hawaii and take a diving cruise, they always ask us not to put TP in the toilets as "they're easy to clog." I don't think my girls would like the idea of that....
Can't wait to read about your next trailer rehab!

No problems with the head, but I suspect if one jammed reams of tp in there you could have an issue. Maybe the cruisers use macerators which may be more clog prone? I'll definitely use the same system type on project Sovereign 33'. Maybe two bathrooms "just kidding". I think I learnt quite a bit during the build and trip; I'm way more excited about the Sovereign now but there's still some treats in store for the Overlander.
