Seek "how to" for paint scratch removal

Our little Bambi suffered a good-size scratch (12 inches) during a horrific wind storm when a piece of flying fiberglas hit her forehead. The scratch is imbeded with a layer of residue paint. Any suggestions on what to use to remove the unsightly white paint? With the paint removed we can better determine how bad the scratch is and what to do next. Thanks all in advance!

Ouch! Sorry to hear this. Any solution should not damage the clearcoat. The impact may have roughened the clearcoat surface and this will be more difficult if the paint is imbedded in that. Two mild treatments come to mind - soap and water or rubbing gently with a soft cloth and some vegetable oil. Harsher solvents would be out.

I remembered this post on clearcoat repair from Jack Canavera that might be useful.
