replacing rotted floor sections on '69 Overlander

I am beginning the process of removing and replacing 3 sections of rotted flooring in my '69 Overlander. I keep reading about "C" channels which hold the flooring. As I have removed the first two sections, I have found nothing resembling a "C" channel. My floor seems to be attached to the frame with the elevator bolts, and to the shell via a more "U" shaped channel that is riveted to both the shell and the interior ribs. In the front of the trailer, are 4 or 5 heavy bolts that bolt thru the channel and into the frame. The plywood floor was screwed to the "U" channel. Am I missing something?

Jay it's called a C channel because the sides which have the shell and ribs riveted to are not as long as the bottom section of the channel which the floor is bolted down to the frame. If you look at it sideways it more resembles a C than a U.

Thanks to both. I discovered that the bolts in the front of my trailer were thru the channel. and directly into the frame. I did not cut them but completey removed the rotted wood from around and behind them. They appear sound and relatively un-rusted. My plan was to simply notch around them as I replaced the flooring and maintain the rigidity of their hold on the front of my trailer. I am not removing the belly skin and am not finding more than surface rusting of the framing members so do not want to expand an already large project.

The "C" channel becomes a "U" channel when it decides that your serious about the rebuilding process, then it makes a turn and stands at attention!!!!!
