Which Bolts?

I'm a newbie super confused about the bolts? I'd love to replace my front subfloor without dropping the belly pan..... so that leads me to 1/4" by 2" self-tapping bolts? But what does that mean? Who is VTS and what kind of bolts do get from them? How many will i need to replace the front subfloor (to the doorframe of my 1973 29' Ambassador). also the metal is important, correct? I see a lot of people warning against stainless steel, but what metal of bolts SHOULD i use? Help!
