pipe frame repair

Hi,
A couple of good friends of ours in the Denco unit just bought the 1950(?) rig via Ebay from Idaho. They're pretty sure that it'll need a good deal of repair to the pipe frame. They're headed to Bozeman soon with their other rig; they may try to pick up the oldster with a flatbed while up that way.

And I volunteered to find them some more info about pipe frame repair, about which I could have sworn that there was a thread someplace. I'll be darned if I can find it. Anybody have it bookmarked?

Lynn

PS: They just sent me the ebay link:

Wow, what a find! I'm sure I've read here that it is recommended that the pipe frames be replaced with something more substantial. I don't know if that is good advice, I just remember reading it around here someplace.

Lynn,

There might be some information on TheVAP.com regarding this in one of the episodes with Fred Coldwell or have your friend contact him directly.
