Partial Floor Repair?????

We have a 69 Overlander with floor rot in the rear bath area, yes in the bathroom, who knew water would rot wood? It's a relatively small area but it also took all of the wood in the water closet on the rear side and I found the battery resting on the black tank. Does anyone have any suggestions for building a battery frame that won't rest on the tank and to repair the floor with minimal removal of the bath appliances. By the way were going to replace the toilet at this time just because it makes sense to do it now. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hate to tell you, but I would pull out the bath and repair the floor. There's probably more damage you are not seeing under there. I had to repair the front half of my trailer's floor, and have a welder come in and fix broken welds in the frame. The lack of support from a rotten floor allows the frame to flex and crack. In fact my first clue was a broken frame outrigger that cut a hole in the bellypan. It's a big project, but you could have it done in a winter and be back on the road.

I had to replace the rear floor and frame on my 1969 Ambassador. Water seeps in from the back truck area soaking the floor. It can be a big job, but it's worth doing it right.

You just have to tear it all out and replace the floor. Be sure to use spar urethane on the plywood to waterproof the new stuff. The bath removal in my 2003 International was a pain but the floor will last a 100 years now!
