Sorry about your loss, but take a look on Facebook.com/airstream addicts there is a '70 25' caravanner that was built by Craig Dorsey for sale for $25k.

I wish you the best in a full recovery. Material things can be replaced, but your life can't be. It looks like your pickup sure helped save your life. The man up above was looking out after you.
I hope you are able to get another trailer and move on to enjoy yourself.

Good luck,

We are all wishing you the best.

How are things going with you? Any news or felling better?
Have you considered looking for a Airstream already refurbished and hitting the road?

Hey Thomas - Still struggling with aches and pains and some brain injury. It's going to take a while. I may be looking for something again.... probably one that is in good vintage shape...that I can use for a couple of years before I start another renovation.

Talking Look What Followed Me Home Today

After the tragic loss of my 1972 Airstream Trade Wind 25' to a drunk driver in Oklahoma last December, this baby followed me home today:

Meet my 'new to me' 1970 Airstream International Sovereign 31'. Hardly a scratch on him..just a few blemishes, as to be expected for being 47 years young. It's an empty shell on the inside, with a to-be-expected rotten sub-floor. So, I expect I will be doing another shell off restoration. But the good news is this one came with a brand new Dometic air conditioner, a new rock guard for the front windows and a new set of interior wheel well covers. For all of that, I nearly got the trailer itself for FREE. Yahoooooooooo!!

I'm looking forward to getting busy on this new project in the near future. First things first....make it weather tight!! And I will probably be starting a new blog for this adventure. Lots of pics to come.

Just read the last few pages of this thread.

First of all, that was an epic crash and I'm glad to see that you're getting better.

Second, very glad to see AS 2.0 in the driveway.

Three, using all of what you learnt on version 1.0, version 2.0 will be way better.

Four, I think that trooper did you a favour.

Up here in Ontario Canada at least, once a driver has been found to be impaired, they automatically loose their insurance coverage; now you're faced with a battle trying to get money out of your own insurance companies uninsured clause, knowing that they have no hope of renumuration from the drunks policy holder. Your own insurance will even tell you to sue the drunk to get monies that you believe are yours if your insurance company decides to play hardball, forcing you to settle for less; if the drunk has no money, good luck. The trooper may have appraised the situation and decided that feigning ignorance was in your best interests to get compensation.

Goodluck with the new project and look forward to reading what you learnt and what you will change in the new project.

Cheers
Tony
