one bent crossmember on our 1971 Ambassador

Hi all,

we are in a floor replacement project and after taking out parts of the floor round the axles we discovered that one of the crossmembers is slightly bent. It is the one between the freshwater tank and the axle.
All other crossmembers and the frame are straight...

Has anyone out here an idea what could have caused this and do you think this may cause more structual issues?

Thanks for advice!!

Doesn't look to me like a major issue. It alsmost looks like the screw/bolt that was in the hole just above it may have been run in at an angle and caused the bend. I would bend it back in place and if you are really concerned about the structural part of it, add a piece of angle to the underside of the flange for reinforcement.

It looks to me like it was damaged in production.

Doesn't really hurt anything.

Bend it back the best you can, if you wish.
