Question Newbie future Airstreamer Question

Is the underside of Airstream trailers wrapped in metal as well? How is underside protected from weather, road debris damage, under flooring water protection, etc?

Most Airstreams have a bellypan that covers the bottom of the trailer. My notes indicate that there were a few entry-level Airstream trailers produced over the past decade or two that didn't include the bellypan so it is something to check-out when looking at later-model entry-level Airstream trailers.

Good luck with your investigation.

Kevin

Kevin, that is interesting. I was not aware that Airstream had produced any trailers that did not have complete bellypans. Do you have any additional information on this?

There was a discussion on this topic a few years ago here on the Forums. I believe that the subject trailer was a Flying Cloud or Safari Sport, and it was a very short-lived offering of an Airstream without a bellypan.

The 2002 and 2003 International CCD 22' did not have an enclosed underbelly.
