New Frame Needed

The removal of the shell went smooth with all the advice of Air Forums. Thanks to all that share the results of their labors.
After removal of the belly pan, tanks, floor and all left on the frame I found the frame rotted in the rear as expected to find, but also found all outriggers damaged to varying degrees along with 3 areas of major rot through the main frame.
This brings me to the decision of a new frame. Thinking of building heavier and looking for examples of what has been done and why. any and all direction appreciated. Just not comfortable patching plates over the number of rust holes that I have. Does any body know the size of the new AS frame members.

I have kept a photo log of my rebuild and will post pictures as soon as I figure out how to do this.
I forgot to mention, I have a 1976 sovereign, 31ft, mid bath

Sweet. I have the same camper. I have the inside gutted down to just the bathroom and hope to have that out by next week. My frame is in bad shape as well. I have a friend who is a welder that is going to give me a price for a new frame today. I will share the price once he looks at it.

Yes,mine looks very similar,with rusted through at least on 2 places on each main rail. I am looking at going with 2x 5" x by 3/16 thick rectangular tubing for main rails and 1/8" 2x5 c channel for cross braces and out riggers. I am interested in what your welder has to say on material and costs.
