Neofloor

Here is a new alternative for trailer flooring -- Lees Neofloor.

I needed to replace the original carpet in my 1986 Sovereign. I refused to replace it with another carpet -- I don't carry a vaccum. I looked into cork but the manufacture wouldn't recommend it for a travel trailer - too much temperature change and movement. Wood flooring was too heavy. I just don't like sheet vinyl. Finally I found Lee's Neofloor.

Neoflool is very light -- good for gas milage. You can sweep it with a broom. It has a solid rubber backing that won't let moisture through. It's suppose to be easy to clean up -- I'll let you know after my first spill. There are numerous styles and colors. Go to www.leescarpets.com for more info.

I took the old carpet out but saved it for a pattern. Removing the carpet padding and staples was a pain. I vacummed out the entire floor before putting down double faced carpet tape. I cut my neofloor with a carpet knife using the old carpet as a pattern. The Neofloor was very east to cut. (In retrospect, I would have cut the Neoflooe a 1/2" larger and then trimmed it once installed.) I laid the neofloor inside the AS but had to trim it to fit some edges. It looks great but has the appearance of a commercial carpet. I'm happy to have something that will be easy to clean on the road-- a broom works well.

Tomorrow I'm leaving for a 7 week journey. I'll know more about Neofloor's durability in September. We're setting up a blog: http://www.airstreamingwego.blogspot.com/ I'll try to post some photos of the carpet.

I just wanted to let you all know that there is another alternative for flooring.
