Mig vs stick

I have a cheap 120v flux core. I had horrible results with it. I went out and bought a used 240v Lincoln buzz box...very cheap. I used 6011, 6013 and some 6014 sticks. Some were easier to use in different positions. My welding skills aren't that great and had some difficulty with my outriggers (vertical welds), but its a new 3/16" C Channel frame, and welding thin to thick took some time. I like the Lincoln a lot, but if I had the dough, I would by a good 240v mig. I wouldn't try to weld anything heavier than 1/8" with a cheap 120v flux core/mig.
