John,As far as experience goes this is the first time I have MIG welded since tech school 25 years ago.I do a lot of gas welding for body work on my cars. The new Lincoln welder I bought for this project makes welding very easy though.
I'm anxious to try my hand at riveting.I had an excellent sheet metal instructor in tech school and we got to rebuild a pair of aircraft floats for a project in our third year.I work as an aircraft mechanic/inspector at Air Canada. We have men that do only sheet metal work so I have not installed a rivet since school. My wife and I are on vacation for the month of August and if I can get far enough along I'll start replacing panels.I plan to teach her to buck rivets. If that doesn't work the fellow I bucked rivets in school with 25 years ago has volunteered to come over and help out.
59Toaster , How are you doing with that one month floor repair?
