frame reinforcement - rear end separation
1970 23' Safari - After fixing my black water tank, decided to give some additional support to the rear frame and take care of the rear end separation. Replaced the 2 rusted and broken steel bolts with 4 new galvanized bolts - bolted through my new frame using dialectic washers between the galvanized and aluminum, and also cut a piece of 1 1/2" aluminum to spread out the stress on the aluminum frame. I also used trex to act as a cushion and spacer between the steel frame and aluminum frame. I had 3/4" separation from shell to trailer frame, now 0. I reinforced the bumper/frame and replaced a rusted steel cross member. Now, starting to put things back together, new storage compartment, floor and some paint to stop any rust.
