CA model, Vin 7937. The 55 FC is in need of total restoration. Have you posted anything on the forum about your 55. Where would I find it?

Nice, Don. My cushions and curtains will be finished in a few more weeks.
I still have to pick up the foam, so Lynn can start on the sewing project.

Just catching up on my reading. Gad miss a few weeks and look what happens.
Excellent Zolatone work, Don. Looks just like the inside of mine. Only better of course as I have not touched the Zolatone and it has many ouches on it due to removal of one of the gouchos. Would you consider PMing me the color choices and ratios?
Keep up the good work. You are almost ready to roll.

Thanks for the ataboy on the Zolatone. I sprayed the inside twice. The first time was not so good. I tried to mix my own color. The color mixing is based on the paint balls inside the medium. The closest explanation to the principle I can give is the halftone technique in printing. I don't know if you are familiar with the technique. Any way I found it not to be a suitable approach. You need to pick one of their colors and stick with it. The color I used the second time is called 20-11 Apollo Gray. It has a slight green tint to it. I have sense received a large collection of color samples from Uwe. The choice is much greater than I was aware of when I did my trailer. Most automotive paint housed do not carry the full color charts. You might want to do research before you make a choice. SECOND, you need special equipment and method. I you go to the Zolatone web site there is a good explanation of technique etc. I would be willing to share more detailed information if you are interested.

Cinderella
I think I'll call her Cinderella. After you see the following pictures, you will know why. There is no good explanation for love! Didn't someone say the beauty is only on the outside.

You are the bravest of the brave.

Back to Bambi
It's time to reinstall the Dometic refer. I tested it earlier and it works great. However we need to do some cosmetic restoration. On the outside of the box we must needed to do some minor surface rust repair. The door on the inside needs work. The inside of the door plastic is badly broken around the edges. The seam between the porcelain inside and the door had leaked and made a mess inside the shell. So we are working on cleaning that up and making some repairs. Pictures show damage.

Refer door repair
The plastic liner on the inside of the refrigerator door is badly damaged. To repair the door I am using the following procedure. I will include picture in several posts to show the whole process. Once again I am open to comments and suggestions about other ways or better ideas.
Thanks Don.

Marine-Tex
Marine-Tex epoxy was used to fill the holes and missing areas of the refrigerator inner door. Next waxed paper was placed over the Marine-Tex to smooth out the layer. It's important to work from one edge of the waxed paper toward the opposite edge to remove any air bubbles in the epoxy material. Two pictures are included, with waxed paper and without. The epoxy is hardened in the second picture. When all holes are filled the door will be flipped over for the reenforcement process.

Trouble with foam
After the Marine-Tex was cured it was time to fill the back space of the plastic liner to the fridge door with foam. As you can see by the pictures, I had some problems with the foam. It looks terrible, But it worked. Next the outside 3 inches of the door liner was reinforced with fiber glass and resin. Both sides of the panel and the edges need to be sanded and shaped.
