Hey all,
ready to get the floor going, I have new fenders and cannot remember whether or not they fit (the flanges) under the flooring, this would make sense, as then they are out of the way of the J channel etc....
Hoping to get the shell back over the frame before the weather gets too cold !! Thanks for aiding my memory ! Mike
You're correct. They go on top the frame, under the subfloor. If you put them on top the subfloor, you'd have raw plywood edge peeking out the side of the wheel well.
Im doing the same to my '72 23ft Safari. Question: did you do some routing along the bottom of the subfloor along the wheel well edges to allow for the thickness of the plastic?
That black plastic is about 3/16" thick plus the strip of aluminum and I'm seeing a little bowing in the center of the subfloor.

I routed the bottom of my new subfloor so that it cleared the wheel wells, the new subfloor then set tight against the frame rails. This will pay off when the new interior goes in as the subfloor will no longer bow up around the wells.
