Question Expansion and contraction of new flooring

My wife and I are trying to decide what to use on our floor. We are considering laminate, but are concerned about the extreme tempatures the trailer will see in the winters. What kinds of laminate/vinyl flooring are immune to expansion and contraction problems associated with drastic tempature changes in Colorado?

Thanks for your input.

There was a thread last year by Pahaska with photos that discussed using 12" cork flooring squares that he purchased from a company in Canada. I would think that cork would be stable under temp extremes.

Laminate floors are extremely stable dimensionally.

They usually recommend a 1/8th inch gap around the perimeter (which will be hidden by the trim) for expansion and contraction, but given the small dimensions of the floor available in an Airstream you could reduce that to 1/16th at the ends and even less from side to side. As a practical matter, it will all shift forward so you leave no gap at all at the front, and 1/8th inch along the aft wall.
