Does the underpan need to be sealed?

We are retrofitting a 1968 Safari that has been completely gutted. We are working on the underpan, patching holes and will seal the patches. Does anyone know if the big seams need to be sealed to prevent water damage/mold? We will most likely use spray foam insulation in the floor and walls.

Thanks! This is the first trailer we're definitely figuring things out as we go.

We are planning on living in this trailer year round in Vermont. We may take it on the road occasionally but it will stay on site most of the time as a home.

I have read several post about spray in foam. It seems that it will not hold up. I would recommend searching for some of the pro's results.

Spray foam will disintgrate rubbing between the inside and outside skins.
If you coat the bottom with foam and need to replace something or find a leak it will difficult until you remove the foam.
I have continplated sealing the leading edge of the belly pan skin.To date I have not.

Absolutly do NOT seal it up, let any condensation or water drain

I agree. Don't seal the belly pan -- water needs a way out...........
