diagrams?

Let me start by saying that I have used the search function and read through at least 2 years of threads about this subject. However, without having a trailer to look at, I'm not sure I am thinking about it right. Can someone break the assembly of these trailers down for a newbie? Start at the frame rail, plywood sits on top, aluminum c-channel on top of that, inner and outer skins attach to c-channel, body bolts run through channel, wood, and frame. Bump strip and bananna skins cover this union. Is this right?

I hear the terms rear sag and rear separation. Is there a difference?

Rear sag & separation... dunno.

Seems to me that what you are asking for are design diagrams. Have you inquired with Airstream?

AFAIK, they are the same thing with rear separation occuring along with a greater degree of sag.

If you can locate a service manual, it has the answers to a lot of those breakdown questions you have. We have one on disc, in a jpg format that one of the forum members provided for us. We can hopefully burn a copy for you. We will not accept $$, as that would be against Airstream policy.

Ditto WADER on the rear end separation.

Actually, these are two seperate problems, but may be caused by the same thing(s), unbalanced running gear and driving with full waste tanks. Rear sag is when the chassis starts to bend just aft of the axles. Rear end seperation is when the shell seperates from the rear bumper assembly, creating a gap where water can enter the trailer and damage the floor.
