Particle Board and Oriented Stand Board (OSB) are completely different materials. OSB is commonly used in subfloor and roof underlayment applications. It is fairly water tolerant, thourh not water proof.

Particale board is nothiong more than saw dust, and it does not tolerate water at all. It swells and falls apart when it gets wet.

Good old fashioned plywood is still probably the best solution.

Check new home construction these days, same junk. Why Airstream did not stick with
plywood (should have been Marine grade) is a grand example of the bean counters ruling.

I would agree that the floors in airstreams should be marine grade plywood, but that is probably too expensive.

When we built an addition on my mom and dad's house, we did not skimp on material and before it was under roof it got rained on. After it cleared up we broomed the excess water off. After only one small dose of water many of the plywood sheets de-laminated. The lumer yard blamed it on a bad batch from the company.

I wonder if Trex makes a plywood type underlayment material, then water would not be too much of an issue.
