Carpet glue removal?

The guy who installed the carpet never thought it would need to be removed!!! It took a lot of elbow grease and more to get up maybe 5 yards of carpet. We did get it up but now there is a crazy amount of glue still on the floor. Not sure we should just go over it with vinyl plank. If anyone knows how to remove it, I would appreciate the information. Thanks in advance for your input.

Katty, there are several brands of adhesive remover. One that i’ve Used is Goof Off. I think I would scrape off as much as I could then apply the remover in small areas. You may want to apply it and cover with an old towel to allow the remover to work before evaporation. I haven’t tried a heat gun, but that’s also a thought. Good luck, Bubba
