wow - on my '73 Overlander they used spray adhesive to tack the fiberglass up, removed the liners and insulation and have no fun looking at the ugly pink and yellow glass fuzz instead of that clean & bright aluminum... nice project!
Remember the shells 'monoque' construction is meant to hold up the frame to a certain degree - getting frame overly stiff can insert trouble over time by distorting the floor channel or shearing rivets when the non-reinforced frame sections still have the original 'bounce' to them amplified by wear and tear & rust, and the shell having relaxed over 40 years still wanting to move... I hope that communicates my understanding of vintage frames!
I don't think you need to reinforce more that half your spanned 6 1/2 foot length - just to pick up along trailing axle plate section and tack in some .100 or .125 plate in center of frame rail, 3" wide or so, just to snub flex out of the rusted or 'relaxed' metal channel?
