The FEDEX guy delivered my chemicals from Skygeek to a lady down the street. She was nice enough to deliver them.
I also took the new rear hold down plate to the hangar today and bent it on the brake. It is .063 stainless steel.

Well I got to use the Alumiprep 33 before dinner. I used it full strength. Cleaned up the C channel pretty good. Here are some pics.

After dinner I worked on the patch for under the rear hatch door. First I etched it with the Alumiprep 33. Then I put on a heavy dose of alodine 1201. Next was the zinc chromate primer and then the final coat is the gray prop epoxy.

I spent most of the morning at my oldest son's track meet. He's a runner! He ran the two mile in 11:07 today. Tomorrow evening he has the one mile run.
This afternoon I got to treating the C channel. After it dries a good 18 hours I'll slide the last piece of floor in, level things, bolt the floor in, rivet the rear hold down plate in place and do some cart wheels! Here are the pics

Thumbs up

Thanks Bruce. The pictures aren't the best quality. They are from my phone. "Someone" won't let me use the Nikon when I have paint on my hands! But the C channel looks a lot better than it did in these pictures.

I thought about a box for each tank, but decided against it because the tank hangs down about 8 1/4". That is 1/4" below the supports. With a metal tank box, it would be a little more. I'm happy with the hangers I built. I just hope they stand the test of time! Keep up the great work! When you finish the grinding and welding the reassembly part seems very easy and exciting!

Trainer of Personnel.... Q. Are you planning to keep the interior original? Or are you going to do a custom interior, to meet your family's needs?

Hey Rex,
All original. Nothing new but an extra battery, axles, tanks and floor. Oh and a frame that isn't rusting to dust...
