'67 Safari Shell off Question
After removing the old floor of my AS with the shell still connected, I discovered that the street side C-channel was bent and will have to be straightened. I suppose that will require that I remove the entire shell. On my AS it appears that there is no seam at the floor level but rather the exterior skin wraps down and around the outriggers to connect to the belly pan. I can envision that lifting the shell up will flex these sections outward as the shell rides over the outriggers. Is that the case? Am I missing something? My concern is refitting the shell to the repaired frame. has anyone a solution to holding the skin out so it can set down on the frame again without permanently damaging the skin. Is it that flexible and am I worried about nothing?
I suspect that I am already in over my head but I work through it.
