Nice job Kevin! Well I have a radio and a clock but I have no idea if they work. Listen if you want a radio that 'looks' stock but with all the modern conveniences. Then I would go with something from these guys: RetroSoundUSA.com - Classic Radio Systems, Speakers, and Accessories
As I said earlier the radio in my overlander looks exactly like the delco radio in the old 56 Chevy I used to have. So that variant of the retro radio might be close, Then you could stencil airstream on the faceplate.
I figure if my clock doesn't work I will just replace the works with a modern battery powered kind, keeping the stock faceplate.

It looks like I will have to replace about a third of my belly pan. I will be taking all the way off anyway for the floor removal and frame resto. I was thinking about using these CLoc 1/4 turn fasteners instead of rivets to attach the floor plan. It might be good to have an easy way to get under there again. I think they are stainless so I would use thin rubber washers on them.

Thanks for the post Kevinb, the photo of your onestop looks like mine, I was wondering about the toilet, if it was original. Yours is like mine, but not for long.......

The 1/4 turn fasteners you reference are clones to Camloc's. You will need a hole approaching 1/2" for the receptacle which means that the bottom flange of the cross member will have to beat least 3/4' wide to rivet on the receptacle

It is but I'm going to replace it, the trick is finding a replacement that will fit under the bench which probably wont happen. Would like to do something like rburditt has done but probably wont look as good. Sorry getting a little ahead of the belly pan removal subject, if you go with the fasteners may want to use a nylon washer. But if Aerowood is right and I'm sure he is thats a pretty big hole!

I was measuring, the Sealand Traveller light looks like it may just fit.. back to the belly pan subject.

Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. After an interminable hiatus from Airstream restoration I am BACK!
As of last weekend I have now officially spent more on tools than I did for the camper I plan to use them on. So new toys list:
MIG welder
Oxy/Acetylene torch
Electronic welders mask
Air compressor
RotoZip with cutting/grinding disk attachment.
The wife rightly pointed out that we could have hired somebody to do this work for what we've paid so far. But I would rather have the tools and skills because who knows that the future holds.
Hopefully this weekend I can resume RESTO work on our Overlander. I really need to buy some replacement C channel and start practicing welding (it's been a few years). Does anybody know off the top of their head what type of C channel is in the frame of a 64 Overlander?

On the RotoZip; I killed my first one exposing it to overnight dew, looked dry enough in the morning but had moisture at the brushes - threw some nice blue arcs and clobbered the speed controller. If there is one tool to baby with an indoor roost that is it.
A high-speed air powered drill makes rivet drilling much faster and possibly more accurate. Iif you have hundreds left to drill a cheap $25 tool might be a good addition.... Or fit a drill bit to the RotoZip.... hmnn, I'm going to go look at that
Beware the alloys of these stamped pieces, some aluminum alloys resist welding of any type whether from low melting temperatures or some other obstacle. Just putting that out there so you're not 5 hours in the mask wondering what you're doing wrong...

It looks like I am going to have to relocate my Overlander to Yorktown, Virginia. It's a 465 mile trip. I have some misgivings about moving her at this stage in the process. I haven't had the time or money to do much to her since the last pics posted here. I need a miracle.
We did manage to get a first rate tow package put on our Toyota FJ. So the Tow Vehicle is ready to go. Hopefully I can get enough resources to get some temporary lights, and some new tires on the AS before we attempt the trip.

Hi Folks haven't been in here for some time. We still have our Airstream but unfortunately it is in South Carolina and we are in Virginia. We are trying to muster the resources to get her moved so we can get the major restoration started. I will check in once in awhile with updates.
