1970 Safari floor & frame repair

We purchassed a 1970 Safari a few months back and have removed all appliances and now in the process of removing the badly dammaged floor. Once we remove the floor we will transport to a local technical school for frame repair. How much of the floor can be removed for us to safely tow the Safari? We are new to this and appreciate any advice we can get.

-since the floor is integral to the structure it would be preferable to transport with floor intact, I think. If removed, consider bracing inside and driving very slowly. Also if by "removed" you mean inside sections cut out, that would not be as structurally compromising as removing floor sections sandwiched between lower-wall-c-channel and frame members....

-search 'floor removal' and you'll find many threads with details of the structural assembly..

I hope the technical school is above the high school level. Working on your frame is paramount to your TT and being able to get it done cheaply is a good thing. This is not to be taken lightly--make sure that YOU make it is done correctly!

Thanks for the input; I am certain it will be done right. Our plan is to remove the floor and belly pan to gain access to the frame. Any suggestions on removing the blue and grey holding tanks?

We have our Safari ready for the shop. Does anyone know where we can find plans, schematic or detailed drawings of the frame of a 1970 Safari? We have gutted our Safari and removed the rotten flooring and belly pan. We are ready to get our frame repaired and would like plans, drawings or scematic for the shop. Any assistance is very much appreciated.

Need Floor Framing Pictures

I have a Argosy 76, that the plywood flooring in front of trailer is rotten and needs repair. I'm searching for pictures & information that shows the original metal floor frame. Also would if anyone has repaired this area could you share your do's and don't?

Previous owner put some 2X4's down under the plywood, but they were not supported by anything and just rested against the metal framework.

P.S. this is great forum!
