1967 Airstream Overlander Rusted Frame

So my 67 Overlander project is on hold for the moment and I am wondering what are your opinions on my next step. I already know I have to do a complete she'll off restore, I have it completely gutted already and have removed the plywood in numerous sections to inspect the frame... it's ALL rusted to the point you can break the frame hitting it with a hammer. Does anyone know of any sort of "blue print" for the frame itself and if anyone out there has had a new frame built, what kind of cost am I looking at?
Any advice is welcome... even if it means walking away from this project. No real money has been invested other than the time I used gutting it. Airstream was free, given to me by my wife's grandfather. He even told me it wasn't worth anything because of the rotted condition it's been in for YEARS...

IMHO, if the trailer has all of the original curved windows and the shell is dent free then it will be worth it to have a new frame built. You're way ahead of the game since the trailer was a gift. You don't really need plans. The frame builder will likely build the new frame right on top of the old one. Your free trailer will very quickly become a $10,000 trailer. If that figure is unacceptable then walk away.

I guess my aluminitis will be showing here, but I would spend a lot of $$ to have a family trailer restored to use. I would consider this to be an heirloom (sp: Airloom? Heh). You can collect stories of where it has been from the donating grandfather, family photos, etc, and piece together a history of the family AND the A/S. Judging by the number of Airstreamers who send in the ghost numbers on their vintage trailers requesting names of POs and history, a lot of us would love to be in your shoes.

I say, go fer it!! Make a new frame and fix it up, get it on the road again!
