Javier,

Outstanding work.

I'm just starting to drill the perimeter rivets so I can raise the shell...great to see that pic above...keep it going.

Got two more vent covers on yesterday. Also I picked up two scaffolding ladders cheap on Craigslist yesterday. They will come in handy with a few projects on my rig and around the house!

Oh forgot to mention that I am pre wireing a solar fridge vent fan. I helps the fridge to cool down without burning up juice.

Good idea on the solar powered fan but it looks like it is wired to run continuously. How long will it last and is it easy to replace?

It isn't that hard to replace. The fan itself mounts behind the fridge and you can disconnect it from the panel. Running continuously shouldn't be a problem, actually I believe it helps the fridge to stay cool and not work as hard.

Got a late start today but got some bs work out of the way. Stripped the paint off the rub rails, cleaned, drilled new holes for all the molding and installed with clecoes. Removed the rest of the emblems. And made a new fresh water fill port.
Hope to get the a/c unit off the top of the trailer so I can see what needs to be done next. It is always worse than you think.

You got that right! And every once in a while fun! The fun part takes a while though! Your progress is looking good. I though I would be having fun now but only because we are in sight of the end, I am kind of tired of the curved walls but starting to get better at scribeing the cabinets to fit. I still think about how I will do the next one??
Always look forward to your updates!

Haha its a bit absurd sometimes with the amount of detail you find yourself facing sometimes.Im a bit far off from fun but Im trying to bust some ass so I can take her out( even just around the block would do).
Im going to check out your progress right after I pick up some Mexican food

Been working on a few detail things and the a/c with my buddy Paul. What a mess that is!! Bondo water leaks, good grief! I had to make a large patch to cover a lot of mess. Also the opening for the unit I want is smaller so...um ...yeah.. enjoy!

Actually he is my old roommate. Hes an English plumber and he looks like Pierce Bronson. Bastard!!
Don't worry though guys, I put him to work.
The A/C is getting ordered next week, got some bracing to do to make it more secure. And yes the ladders will come in very handy.

I'm going with the Dometic Penguin. Not sure if I'm going with the Heat pump or not yet. It either uses a single zone tstat or the CCC (comfort control center). Dometic is really vague about their products. Either way I like the low profile of the Penguin and they both have the same dimensions regarding the roof opening. My plan is to:
1) Remove A/C (done)
2) Clean and prep (done
3)Patch the roof and make the existing opening smaller (done)
4) Fix broken rivets in the roof stringers (done)
5) bend some additional support stringers out of some scrap 5052 .032
6) make a brace for the opening out of some scrap MGP
7) Hopefully get the unit in a couple weeks and lure my friend Paul back with some Beer and Dans Subs.
I am not going to buck the rivets in the patch til I get the unit for some last minute adjustments.
Oh and I just remembered where I got the idea about the roof patch, your Blog!! Thanks for that!
