1954 Wanderer Floor Replacement Question

Trying to install the floor. There was no floor when I got my trailer. I am stumped as to where to position the metal step that came with the trailer. I am not talking about the folding step, this trailer came with a heavy duty metal step. Is it supposed to be positioned such that the door when closed rests on it?

I think it's supposed to be recessed into the floor. Like this.... See post 47 here

Hi there and welcome to the Forums!

You might find this photo archive of a couple of other Wanderers to be helpful in your restoration.

The first two are actually designated at 1954 Wanderers, while the rest are just called "18 Footers" or apparently sometimes the Globetrotter name was used.

1954/1955 Wanderer 18' #2039 - Vintage Airstream

1954 "18 Footer" Globetrotter - Vintage Airstream

1954 "18 Footer" #O-2022 - Vintage Airstream

1954 "18 Footer" #O-2035 - Vintage Airstream

Good luck!
