1/2" Subfloor? And Elevator bolts.
I've finally got both front and rear floor sections out of the 76 Argosy. I measured the plywood and it specs at 1/2"?!! What the heck? I thought is was supposed to be 5/8"...also...I can't seem to find the elevator bolts locally. I can find flat headed elevator bolts, but they all have the square shank under the head instead of just a smooth shaft. Where can I get the correct ones? Even the nutshop online shows an elevator bolt with the square shank like a carriage bolt. Please help.

So I'm guessing the ones you saw online were these elevator bolts at VTS?
If so, you could probably just drill a slightly larger hole near the top, or a countersinking bit, etc.
It looks like there is still plenty of surface area on the bolt head to grab plywood, even if you drill out a hole for the square shank, which would only be slightly larger than the hole for the threaded portion.

Yes, similar style. The ones I'm replacing though are the ones that attach the front and rear c channel thru the channel then the plywood. I don't really want to elongate the holes in the c channel.

These are the one's I'm lookin for. "Jenny's" floor is more of what I expected with 5/8". I don't get why they would have used 1/2".? Since it's on the ends, can I upscale to 5/8" without causing too much stress to the shell (the cap)? Mine is a 76 26 footer.

Check your C-channel dimensions to see if 5/8" will work. I was confused until I actually pulled the bad sub-floor up and found that the center (more solid places)were actually 5/8" I would reposition those slightly to center in the channel, thus allowing you to use whatever fasteners you'd like...seal the old hole with urethane....

These are the ends...where the channel sits atop the plywood.
I'm only replacing the ends, the center sections are A-O.K.! Thank the Lord!!!!

Jcarp 1966 safari my c Chanel has 1.5 inch by 3 inch by 1/4 inch rectangular bars as washers under heads of elevator bolts to spread stress. These accommodate the square head space.
