Our 78 Ambassador 28 has the water filter installed as an option for the original owner, and it's an Everpure unit with a replaceable cartridge.

It looks something like this:

Everpure Water You Can Trust

There's also a listing for an RV water filter on their site, and it looks like the H54 unit.

The filter heads haven't changed, and the current Everpure cart's will fit.

I just bought one for our rig at an RV store for about $32...which was cheaper that the same cart. at an appliance store I checked on.

Goggle the Everpure and you will probably find one near you at a decent price...

An update to the water filter cartridge...and a reminder....

On our last trip, we'd been on the road for about an hour, and decided to stop for a break for our group of four...

As I walked back to the trailer, I saw water dripping from the underneath...OH CRAP...what did I 'break'?

As I jumped inside, I heard the water pump running...Double crap...we'd forgotten to turn off the pump!! I didn't recheck it before we left home, as we had some 'new' travelers with us that may have used it...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!...

On our AS, you can't see the water pump circuit red warning light when the compartment door is closed...Maybe I'll think about mounting another LED light in an area I can see when leaving the trailer, making it a real 'idiot' light...

anyway, my search found that the retaining ring on the filter cartridge had come loose, allowing the unit to drop down - El Leako Supreimo!!!

From the amount of water, and looking at the tank gauge, it looked as if the leak had just happened a few minutes before we stopped!

We were camping in the warm weather, so all the wet areas were dry by the next day...

Checking the water pump switch is again HIGH on my 'hit the road' list...
