Polished some Aluminum with MET-ALL

Here's are some pics of the light cover that I polished this evening. Cast Aluminum is sometimes difficult to polish effectively. I used a 3M Roloc abrasive disk 120 grit to remove the surface corrosion then used 220, 400, 800 and 1000 wet/dry sand paper. I used a cotton polishing wheel with some MET-ALL aluminum polish I bought at Camper Clinic II. It took about 30 min. Click image for larger version

Amazing work.

Harker Heights isn't so far. If you'd like an extra set of hands working on that rear end in the Spring, I would be happy to help.

Dave, Thanks for the offer! I have been wondering how to approach you for some assistance. I guess you solved that for me. I plan on tearing into the rear immediately after we get back from our small West Texas trip. I looked behind the toilet this evening and noticed that there is no floor underneath the water heater! Ahh the things you don't "see" when you are a wannabe! I'd be honored to have you lend a hand! I'll send you a PM so we can link up.

Lance that's nice and shiney. Are you going with a LED while you have it out. It's much easier to install with the cover off.
So your trailer is suffering from rear end seperation. When Dave comes to help have him bring a tube of seperation H. That will cure it.

Always got some "cracks" don't you, Chris! LOL
I was just thinking of the LED retrofit, but I'm kinda partial to the glow of incandescent bulbs. Still kicking it around...

rear end cracks LMAO you'd think I was a plumber or something.
I just put my LED's in today and tested them tonight. WOW are they bright and use 1/10th the power. I tested them tonight after dark and the over the door light lit up thw shop well enough to read a book from 15 ft away and the scare light looked like a runway landing light.

LEDs? I'm looking. Just not sure where to look. Not in any cracks!

PB379, can you take a pic of the underside of the light cover, my Tradewind bulb just lays on the roof, I would like to see the mount that appears to be riveted to the underside of your cover.
Chris, How well would a pic show the new led lights you installed? I am really trying to keep my TW as original as possible, but the led's intrigue me. MPJ

Here's some pics with no flash and no shop lights on. The only light you can see is from the 2 new LED's. You might say they were a shot in the dark to see if they came out.
