I have recently purchased a 1971 international which is in not too bad a shape its my home at the hunting camp! I love it more everytime I stay in it!!
THis weekend on the inside the AC unit started making a high pitch squeal. Not long after that started it quit blowing air. WQhen you turn the thermostat on the compressor comes on but NO air is blowing out of the unit on the inside.
Can someone help me on a direction to go in to what it could be or what to look at other than it being 41 yrs old and calling a mobile repair person to come look at it.
Does it have a fan that maybe just seized up or a belt that might have broke? Can you get to this fro mthe inside or do you have to go in from the top side?
THanks for yalls time even reading this! If you have any suggestions please I'm all ears!
Is it the original Armstrong AC? Mine has a tag on the interior shroud that says Armstrong, yours might. assuming it's the Armstrong you can buy a replacement fan motor ,use the google search tool for this site and put ac or armstrong fan motor and you'll find the part number and manufacturer.
You can even get a new compressor for an Armstrong. There`s a sticky in the AC section describing how a member increased the output to 15k, and added the heat pump function.
