What is expected discount off new trailer

I am negotiating the price on a new airstream, 2017.

Based on the MRSP, I am being offered a price that is 12% off the MRSP. Is this good, or should I dig harder for more?

What have been others experience.

It's all dependent on model, popularity, how busy the dealership is, time of year, etc. The standard thinking is up to 20% on new models.

I am not a good negotiator, but we got around 18% off and the dealer installed our ProPride hitch free. Keep

You may want to give Airstream Adventures in Boise a call. They are very competitive.

I personally have not had great experience with the dealer in Denver, if that is who you are working with.

20% and they are great. Live in Denver bought last two from Airstream Adventures.

Check website listings at Colonial Airstream NJ and call Patrick Botticelli to discuss. Per previous comments 0-20% discount depending on supply and demand, which includes your demand/urgency to purchase. Playing hard-to-get can help, but better for 2016 or earlier model years, and not 2017 IMO.

We worked with 6 dealers on a 2017 Classic and the difference in best dealer price was substantial. With patience was able to get better than 20% off.

I recently contacted 10 dealerships spread around the country getting prices on a 26U.
2-10%
3-15%
3-18%
2-20%

The best discounts (top 5) were on trailers already in stock.

We just picked up our new trailer. I hate negotiating, but was able to get almost 20% off just by calling around.

The best local price was from a place I wasn't thrilled about so I called the dealer we had previous experience with and told them I was about to go with the other guys and wondered if they wanted to match. I got the whole "I think my boss will just laugh at me, but I'll ask" routine, but it worked.

I could have done better, but didn't want to drive to Florida.

This was a on a special order 2017 FB twin.

TB if you shop in the Denver area then you will pay to much. I live north of you and have bought a 25FC and my current Classic from Colonial. Well worth the trip to save $$$. Airstream NW would be a solid second choice and there is a new dealer in Salt Lake worth trying.

Thanks everyone. I called a few places mentioned, and was able to get almost 20% off (19.4) and then the DENVER dealer beat it. Awe of the other places required me to have it towed or shipped and from NJ it was $3000.

So I got the right price from the local dealer here in Denver. I liked the sales person we were dealing with and I also had some options added like the awnings, convection, and rear camera. Thanks for the input, it really helped!

I was quoted $1,150 more by him for leftover 16, can get a 17 closer to home for less than he wants for his 2016. I figured they would want to move the 16s but apparently he wasn't budging much for me on a 20'.

Windish in Denver was great to work with when we were kicking tires. No high pressure and they had lots of Airstream trailers in stock. My understanding is they can also arrange a tow vehicle for a buyer as well. They have stayed in touch and each time ask me when would be a good time to call back. It'll be awhile, if ever, for us before we are ready to step up but my input is that they are a class act in Denver. They had plans to expand to Colorado Springs but I'm not sure if it's still their plan or when. I keep seeing ads for LazyDays north of Denver but have not been there to verify. LazyDays does carry Airstreams in other markets (Tucson for sure) but not sure about here, there could be an issue with competition in markets and territories that the manufacturer has to respect and enforce.
