Used A/S from the factory ?

Do you know if the factory sales used A/S or MH with warranty, second choice or refurbished trailers ?
I know you can find brand new cars or like that, from factories and I wonder if it was the same situation for Airstream ... If yes, is there a list and where can we have a glance on it ?

Bruno.

I have never heard of the factory selling used, refurbished, or seconds. I am sure they will tell you they just don't build seconds.

You should try to make a arrangement with a large volume dealer, many have used units which are in excellent shape.

The Airstream factory does not sell trailers new or used. They have a Service Center that from time to time has a trailer that they refurbish and sell.

They keep all the ones they build or do they give them away?

As Lynn said, "The Airstream factory does not sell trailers new or used. They have a Service Center that from time to time has a trailer that they refurbish" and might sell if for some reason the customer failed to pick it up and pay for the repairs made by the Service Center, but I've never personally known of that happening. All Airstream sales are handled through their Airstream dealer network.

Jim,
You beat me to it~!!
Bruno,
Airstream only built products that are specifically ordered from a "Authorized Airstream Dealership". They have no units for sell on site at Jackson Center, Ohio. You might ask? Have they changed this policy since the 2008 economic downturn? I rather doubt it. Because, unlike the rest of the RV manufacturers, Thor (Airstream) will be one of the two top companies (with the largest shares of the remaining business) to weather this. Actually, I believe they will be a much stronger company because of it~
What you might do..depending on your inside source..keep an eye out on the "repro field". A large number of dealers are posturing their business units by buying second hand units, either thru dealerships that have failed or RV units that have been repro.(hard times for out of work owners, etc..)
You might even consider offering a finder's fee..This route could save you a tremendous amount of time and money.
Good LUCK~!

Where do you get the "factory seconds" in the automotive field? I know the car companies make lots of defective cars but I thought they charged full price for them?

By the way if you are looking for a deal in an Airstream why not run an ad in your local Penny Saver, newspaper, Kijiji or Cragslist saying " Airstream wanted, quick cash for a good late model trailer" and see what comes to your net?

You can buy direct from the owner and be the only one bidding.

Hi, (1.) They sell them to the government. (2.) Return them to Mexico. (3.) And use them for crash tests.
