Searching for Inspector

Hello,
We would like to make a deal on a privately owned 2005 30' Airstream Classic in Redford, Virginia offered on Airstream Classifieds, but we live near Cape Cod, MA. Is there someone near Redford, Virginia who would be willing to inspect this used Airstream for us in the next few days? Please contact me if you would be willing to do this and let me know your fee and when you could look over this camper for us! Thank you!

121,

The last two Airstreams I have purchased were in Albuquerque and my present one near Houston (I live in eastern Virginia). In both occasions, I talked with the sellers, grew comfortable with what they were telling me, then made a deal and got in the truck to go and inspect and close the deal once I was satisfied.

That is what I would recommend for you to do. The travel shouldn't take more than a week to go down and back - not too stiff a price to pay.

Pat

This may help
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f138...ist-43294.html

When you select the Member List, fill in the blank for location and inspector type. Leave all other fields blank.
A word of caution: The inspectors here are volunteers. That said, there is no qualification of the inspector's skill or knowledge. I looked at list of volunteers for the entire state of VA. From the several trailer inspectors on that list, there are only two that I would trust to do an inspection for me. Though, I have never met either of them. I only know them by what they post here on the forum.

Usually there is no fee, but the expectation is that you will cover the volunteer's expenses (fuel and travel cost)

I suggest you should do the inspection yourself, or, at the very minimum, be there when someone else inspects so that they can show you the issues.

We sent an email to the local WBCCI and they forwarded it to their members and we got a reply from a member who offered his services.

Hello,
Thank you for sending my request for an inspector out to your club members. How do I get in touch with the WBCCI member who offered his services to inspect the 2005 30' Classic in Virginia? Thank you,
Susan Staats

121, apology if there was any misunderstanding.

I was saying WE did that when WE were recently looking for an inspector in Missouri. It was successful.

To find a contact for your needs look up the WBCCI in the area in question and their website will have a point if contact that you can send an email to.

Good luck.
