Questions from an expat in New Zealand on new airstreams

Gidday,
I moved to the South Island of NZ with my family from California a few years ago and the kids (2 and 5) are of the age where we can start spreading our wings. Our plan is to base the trailer near a ski resort in the winter (winterizing issues?) and come down on the weekends, and in the summer head up to the North Island for camping and surfing.
We are limited to a 23' as we can not license one down here wider than 8' nor greater than 7,000 GVW. Are any of the older ones 8' but longer than 23'?
So with that said I have been checking out the Airstream website at the Safari, CCD, or Ocean Breeze. With young kids we are looking at the most "bulletproof" interior that is going to last. The CCD looks kind of flash, the OB looks kind of cool but would not take a beating, and the Safari a bit more robust.
We are not looking for all of the bells and whistles but would welcome accessories or a package that offers good value.
Any comments from the peanut gallery as to your thoughts?

You need a Vintage...

Look at the 1960's....up thru 1968 Airstreams. Narrow, and the longer ones are really nice. BUT, do your homework on the condition before you get it down there and then have to search out certain items. This site is a great source.
