Do dealers discount off the listed prices on new airstreams?

Look for around 20% off of MSRP. We purchased at that amount off 2 years ago. We are looking to upgrade to a FC30' RBT or a Int. Serenity 30' RBT and have had a couple of offers at a bit more than 20% off of MSRP. Have not pulled trigger yet, but looks like it will be soon. Happy hunting.

I see it is your first post. Welcome to the forum!

As mentioned you can expect a discount on a new AS. Of course the itmes longest in inventory (for whatever reason) will be discounted the most. Somewhere in the 18 to 20% range is not uncommon.

Realize this is a somewhat a dated thread (03/19) but maybe it will get some response...

Just arrived, e.g. new member to this Airstream Owner's Forum (also member of other affiliated RV forums, RV Wizard, etc.) We're former owners of a 45' Diesel Pusher (sold) and wanting to downsize into a Airstream Classic for many reasons.

We are also commencing our research and curious to learn what we can expect in terms of discounts achievable on new inventory, i.e. 2020 Classic. We're also aware of and watching the pre-owned/private seller market but likely won't buy a pre-owned from a dealer or commercial retailer.

Is 20% off MSRP an actual "obtainable" price point or should be expecting less?, i.e. 5, 10, 15% margins?

Would appreciate guidance, advice, shared learning from others with recent AS buying experiences. Also open to recommendations (nationwide) for Dealers known to offer (or deal on) the best new unit selling price(s).

We've yet to hit the stores/dealers or shows and want to get "educated" before we take those steps. The Classic being the largest is 99% most likely to be our choice.

Welcome to the forum, rewillia!

This is the best time of year to shop for discounted Airstreams -- new or used. Sorry, no advice on which dealer, but I would suggest going to one or two close to you. Spend some time in each model you like, and compare the various floor plans. As experienced RV users, you probably will "know" the right one when you find her. Have good reserves in your checking account for a "good faith deposit," and be ready to "make an offer they can't refuse" . . . . . . start low [25% off maybe?] and be prepared to haggle.

I think the one in Dallas has received favorable comments here. Not all dealers are created equal, so be careful with that choice IMO. Colonial Airstream in NJ has a good rep, an amazing inventory, and a new facility, so they might be one place to check out, if you are open to a road trip bringing the new AS home. Patrick Botticelli is a good place to start IMO.

All, thank each of you for the feedback on pricing discounts (thus far). We're likely to make a purchase right at year end or in jan/feb (need to speak with our CPA on timing) but otherwise we're ready and will commence visiting dealers in the coming weeks/month to gain a sense of what floor plan and size for that matter will most serve our interest. At present we're considering the Classic 33. Next up is to read up here in the forum on build quality, QAQC, and component reliability (that being principally the structural interior components, fit and finish, etc. as well as the "must haves vs. the nice to haves", i.e. appliances, ancillary systems for water, HVAC, and./or other options/upgradeable considerations.
